Thankfully, I got into Life Wellness, the class I was waitlisted in, so my schedule is complete. I'm quite excited for next semester...I'm taking Constitutional Issues, Logic and Critical Thinking, Speech Communication, Life Wellness, Wind Ensemble, American Lit II, and Principles of Management. A fairly full load, but I'm definitely ready for a change. I loved my classes this semester, but next semester sounds equally interesting. It'll be so nice to come back in January to a fresh start after three weeks of not having to worry about schoolwork at all...right now, however, is a different story. Before next Friday, I have to write 10-12 pages about Plato's Republic, take one test, one final exam, and two quizzes, complete several hours of Spanish homework, memorize 28 lines of poetry, research Emily Dickinson and write 6 pages about her life. And finish my application for the Middle East cross-cultural. I think I'm forgetting stuff too. Ugh.

So, after all that concern about wanting the exact classes I planned, what did I do? Overslept my alarm by 45 minutes on registration day. Don't know how I did it, I only know that I picked a terrible day to do it. I think I just turned off my alarm when I woke up and promptly fell asleep again. Even so, I got everything I wanted except Wellness, and I'm waitlisted for that so I have a shot at getting in. Oh well, I learned my lesson...

So my life has been busy, of course. Lots of decisions to make. The biggest one I've made yet is that I changed my major. Yes, I am now a Liberal Arts major with a business/marketing concentration and minors in pre-law and political studies. And English, if I can squeeze it in. Ha! It's really not as crazy as it sounds, until you consider the fact that I am hoping to go the Middle East for my cross-cultural, and Washington, D.C. for an additional semester. Oh, me and my plans...my prayer is that I don't become a slave to planning and allow God to replace my grandiose ideas with his own.

On a similar, but different note--next semester's classes, provided all goes as planned (ha!) at registration tomorrow morning...
Life Wellness
Speech Communication
Constitutional Issues
Logic and Critical Thinking
Wind Ensemble
Principles of Management
American Literature II

And let's all give one big cheer for the fact that I never have to take another math or science course unless, for some absurd reason, I would choose to. What a beautiful thing...

Things I've learned about myself in these two weeks of college:
1. I don't deal well with change.
2. I value alone time more than I thought.
3. I actually do like waking up early.

It amazes me how quickly my moods fluctuate sometimes. One moment, I can be totally excited about the future, and the next I want to go back to high school. I just don't understand myself. Thank goodness God does...
